To Cima di Pegno via the Rotmoos pasture

On days when the weather is calm, getting an early start and taking the Verdines-Talle cable car, followed by an ascent with the chair lift to the Grube, or taking the cable car from Prenn to Klammeben is highly recommended. After you’ve passed the Hirzer Hütte Inn and walked to the Tallner Alm, you start an easy climb over the Almenweg path to the Rotmoos pasture. Continue upwards to the Giogo Pascolo Verde and then northwards over the ridge to the summit of Cima di Pegno.

The return journey takes you to the Hinteregger Alm, from where you can then hike back to Klammeben. You can take the cable car into the valley to Prenn, returning to Verdines from the cable car mountain station within 20 minutes.

Once you’ve taken the cable car back to Verdines, you can return to Scena or Merano in comfort by taking the bus.
