From Talle to Merano 2000 via the Oswald crenel

A hike from Talle to the Streitwelder Alm followed by crossing the Oswald crenel to Merano 2000 is a challenging but wholly rewarding one which takes you round the Picco Ivinga massif.

The starting point for this hike is the Verdines-Talle cable car mountain station. The journey takes you south, past the Oberkirn Inn, with the Picco Ivigna always in view. With an easy and pleasant climb, the path then leads to the mountain hamlet of Videgg and on to the Streitwelder Alm. It is here where the climb to the northern slope of the Picco Ivigna (path no. 19) to the Oswald crenel becomes more challenging. The Kuhleitenhütte Inn, at the highest point of this hike, is the perfect place for a pit stop after which you can begin the descent to Pfiffing. You can either take the cable car or path no 18 to the Ifinger Inn. From there, you can be in Montescena within an hour’s walk so you can take the Taser cable car back into the valley.
